Blue Campaign gains new partners

Earlier this week the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a new partners for their Blue Campaign – the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and UPS.

“There is an undeniable powerhouse in a public-private partnership,” said Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Russell C. Deyo. “We rely on close partnerships with those who interact with communities every day. Those who own and operate public-facing businesses have an especially important role.”

Ann Beauchesne, senior vice president of National Security and Emergency Preparedness at the U.S. Chamber, spoke of the Chamber’s role in the Blue Campaign, saying “By bringing the public and private sectors together through the Blue Campaign, real progress can be made in the fight against human trafficking and the business community looks forward to lending its expertise and voice to this important initiative.”

The DHS Blue Campaign works in collaboration with law enforcement, government, non-governmental, and private organizations to protect the basic right of freedom and to bring those who exploit human lives to justice. Over the years, the Blue Campaign has partnered with a variety of government and non-government entities to fulfill their mission.

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
