Task force provides update on anti-human trafficking efforts

On January 5, the President’s Interagency Task Force to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (PITF) released a fact sheet detailing some of PITF’s recent accomplishments. PITF’s anti-trafficking efforts focus on rule of law, victim services, procurement and supply chains, and public awareness and outreach.

The fact sheet provides an update on anti-trafficking efforts, including the Anti-Trafficking Coordination Team Initiative and the Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign. PITF’s fact sheet also provides an overview of new partnerships formed with government departments and agencies, the intelligence community, non-government organizations, and other entities. The fact sheet also covers funding for victim services and anti-trafficking efforts.

PITF was formed following President Obama’s March 2012 call to strengthen federal efforts to combat human trafficking through the cooperation and collaboration of government agencies, the private sector, advocates, survivors, faith communities, civil society, law enforcement, and academia.
