Agencies investigate Russia, Trump associates

For months, U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies have been collaborating in an investigation into Russian attempts to influence the recent presidential election. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), National Security Agency (NSA), Department of Justice, the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and representatives of the director of national intelligence began looking into possible Russian interference last spring.

The agencies have been looking into who financed the email hacks of the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. The agencies believe Russia is behind the hacking, and that these actions were taken to help President Trump win the election.
