Send Western Wings for Ukraine’s Freedom

With Ukraine and NATO allies meeting to discuss arms shipments in Brussels on February 14, Simons Center Senior Research Fellow, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Gordon B. “Skip” Davis Jr., former U.S. Army Director of Operations at U.S. European Command and NATO’s former Deputy Assistant Secretary General, says it’s time to send combat aircraft.  Davis argues that if provided in sufficient numbers and with sufficient speed, fighter jets would enable Ukraine to defend and regain occupied territory.  He further states that it is time for Western leaders to commit to supporting Ukraine in its effort to restore full territorial integrity and stand up to Putin’s naked aggression and power games.
