Allende, Victor and Jorge Anaya. “Collaboration in Humanitarian Logistics: Comparative Analysis of Disaster Response in Chile and Haiti 2010.” MBA Professional Report, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, 2010. http://edocs.nps.edu/npspubs/scholarly/MBAPR/2010/Dec/10Dec_Allende_MBA.pdf (accessed 8 August 2011).
This project seeks to examine the relationships that develop between various agencies, NGOs, and other entities in the direct aftermath of a natural disaster and deployment of humanitarian aid efforts. It uses the two case studies of Chile and Haiti (both of which experienced earthquakes and significant damage in 2010) to explore the impact these relationships have on the effectiveness and efficiency of the humanitarian supply chain. Furthermore, potential conflicts and problems are discussed, and conclusions are drawn.
