This article discusses the dangers and pitfalls of implementing the interagency paradigm abroad, and highlights current situations where the interagency effort is ineffective or even working against stated goals. It argues that, during conflict situations, the interagency should be placed within a unified chain of command, as this is the only way it can become an effective tool.
