This paper examines the impact that interagency cooperation has had on the conflict between the Colombian government and insurgent forces such as the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia). Termed the Colombian Democratic Security Policy, this approach integrated and combined the efforts of Colombian institutions as well as those of U.S. agencies such as the Department of State, SOUTHCOM, and the Drug Enforcement Agency.
