The purpose of this project is to present a model for Strategic Maritime Domain Awareness that will enhance U.S. maritime security by linking the national and global maritime domains using the capabilities of the U.S. Navy; U.S. Coast Guard; national, state and local government agencies; and multi-national partners. This model for Strategic Maritime Domain Awareness will provide support to the National Strategy for Maritime Security (NSMS), an overarching strategy published in September 2005 that outlines protection of U.S. maritime interests.
