Flournoy, Michele A. and Shawn Brimley. 2006. In Search of Harmony: Orchestrating “the Interagency” for the Long War. Armed Forces Journal Vol. 143, no. 12 (July): 36-39. http://www.armedforcesjournal.com/2006/07/1857934 (accessed 18 October 2011).
This article advocates for greater harmony and cooperation within the interagency community, the creation of a new cadre of national security professionals, and an expansion of the purview and power of the National Security Council. It is argued that these reforms are necessary for the U.S. to achieve victory in the “Long War” against terrorism.
