This article describes the creation of the Maritime Domain Awareness Data Sharing Community of Interest (MDA DS COI), a collaborative group charged with enhancing the flow of data between military and civilian organizations in the Maritime Domain Awareness mission area. The MDA DS COI seeks to enhance data sharing capabilities, establish a common maritime vocabulary, and give members increased visibility into available information resources.
