You are invited to a Distinguished Speaker Series dinner event on Nov. 29, 2023, at the Riverfront Community Center in downtown Leavenworth, Kansas (123 S. Esplanade St.). A reception begins at 5:30 p.m., the buffet dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7 p.m.

Roughly thirty years ago, the Cold War came to an end. This multi-generational struggle, which did not always remain “cold,” came to define the security environment and, arguably, the social milieu for much of the world’s population. Yet, the old animosities and rivalries have continued to simmer beneath the surface boiling over in Europe and across the globe. In this presentation of the “Distinguished Speaker Series” brought to you by the CGSC Foundation’s Simons Center, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College professors Dr. Mark Wilcox and Dr. Sean Kalic will discuss the Simon’s Center’s Cold War Symposium and the culmination of that work in the book they co-edited, The End of the Cold War and its Aftermath.

Tickets are $35/person in advance. Tickets are $40/person at the door.
