CGSC Foundation Scholarship Program kicks off third year
The CGSC Foundation announces the kickoff of the third year of its competitive scholarship program for relatives of U.S. Army Command and General Staff College alumni and others who are Life Members of the Foundation’s Alumni Association.
As in previous years, the 2022 Foundation scholarship awards will include at least two $500 scholarships to high school students and at least two $500 scholarships to college students.
Additionally, the CGSC Foundation, with the generous support of Park University, will also award $3,500 scholarships to Park University to qualified and selected applicants. The Park University scholarships are for full-time students for the academic year (the award will be split between the fall and spring semesters). These scholarships can be renewed for up to three years at Park University’s discretion if recipients maintain full-time status, have a 3.0+ GPA, and demonstrate satisfactory academic progress.
In the application, students must select which scholarship they are applying for – the $500 cash scholarship or the Park University $3,500 scholarship.
“We’re excited to once again have Park University’s support of our scholarship program,” said Foundation President/CEO Rod Cox. “Park has been a great partner to the Foundation over the years and we are proud to have them on board with us. Their participation allows us to support even more military families than we could on our own.”
The CGSC Foundation’s scholarship program is open to high school seniors who will begin their college studies in 2022 and for undergraduate college students in the first three years of their studies (freshman through junior) returning to school.
The application window for the 2022 Scholarship competition opened Jan. 4, 2021. The deadline for applications is midnight on March 15, 2022. Judging will occur March 16-31 and the Foundation will announce the winners on April 13, 2022
The application is available on the CGSC Foundation website at www.cgscfoundation.org/scholarships. A link to join the Alumni Association as a Life Member is also on the page for those that need to join before their relatives apply.
Cox added that the Foundation also welcomes donors who may not have eligible relatives but wish to support the scholarship program. Interested persons can support the scholarship program by visiting www.cgscfoundation.org/donate.
