Alliance for Peacebuilding launches new publication

This month the Alliance for Peacebuilding announced the launch of their new publication Building Peace: A Forum for Peace and Security in the 21st Century.

Building Peace is a semi-annual, online publication written for a broad audience interested in conflict-affected and post-conflict states. Building Peace explores how peace is fostered through conflict prevention, mediation, negotiation, and post-conflict reconstruction in fragile and chaotic conflict zones.

The first issue of Building Peace features Nobel Laureate Leymah Gbowee, as well as many other authors and peacebuilding experts. This issue includes articles on integrating peace and security, preventing mass atrocities and genocide, conflict prevention education and training programs, and other peacebuilding platforms. This issue also includes updates on peacebuilding efforts in Syria, Uganda, and Colombia, as well as a review of Opting Out of War: Strategies to Prevent Violent Conflict.

The next issue of Building Peace is scheduled for release is September 2013, and will focus on conflict prevention. The September issue will also feature an interview with Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Jan Eliasson.
