Cyber executive order in the works

According to one official, the revised executive order on cybersecurity may soon be released. The original executive order was scheduled to be signed earlier this year, and a draft of the revised order was leaked in February.

The leaked draft has received generally positive reviews. The draft includes directions to adopt cyber best practices and hold federal managers accountable for vulnerabilities in their technology systems, as well as information on securing critical infrastructure.

Throughout the draft, the order calls for federal department leaders to work together to manage cyber risks.
