DoD stresses preparedness
Yesterday, Robert G. Salesses, deputy assistant secretary of defense for homeland defense integration and defense support to civil authorities, stressed the importance of strengthening collective security through preparedness, saying “I emphasize that national preparedness and military readiness are synonymous.”
Salesses discussed the variety of regional threats faces Department of Defense (DoD) personnel around the world during an interview with DoD News. According to Salesses, both individuals and installations should be aware of national security threats, including terrorist threats, pandemics, natural disasters, and cyberattacks.
Salesses’s remarks come at the end of National Preparedness Month.
