FEMA offers interagency logisitcs course

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently announced they will be offering a course on the fundamental concepts of interagency logistics. The course is recommended for middle and senior logistics and emergency managers within the Department of Homeland Security, as well as federal, state, local, and military personnel. Civilians who work or volunteer for non-governmental agencies are also welcome.

The course, S0674 Basic Interagency Logistics, includes seminars designed to familiarize participants with logistics planning and collaborative response with other agencies in an emergency situation. The goal of the course is to prepare participants for interagency or “whole community” cooperation that includes federal, state, local, territorial, tribal, non-government organizations, emergency responders, and other partners.

There are no prerequisite courses required to participate in this course, though FEMA does recommend participants pursue courses related to logisitics, the National Incident Management System, and the National Response Framework courses.

The course will be held at the FEMA Distribution Center in Frederick, Maryland, and will be offered Jan. 26 to 30, April 13 to 17, and June 1 to 5.
