National Cyber Security Awareness Month draws to a close

This October was the tenth annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), which was sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Alliance and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center.

DHS is committed to raising cybersecurity awareness by working across all levels of government, the private sector, and internationally to protect against and respond to cyber incidents. As such, NCSAM is an opportunity to engage government, law enforcement, public and private sector stakeholders, and the general public in creating a safe, secure, and resilient cyber environment.

This year’s theme was “Our Shared Responsibility,” and focused on future cybersecurity challenges. NCSAM included a series of events and initiatives centered on topics related to the theme, including online safety and security, the cyber workforce, cyber crime, and critical infrastructure and cybersecurity.
