KC Federal Executive Board topic of latest InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture
Mr. Larry A. Hisle, executive director of the Greater Kansas City Federal Executive Board (FEB), conducted a presentation on the FEB in the latest InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture Dec. 12, in the Arnold Conference Room of the Lewis and Clark Center on Fort Leavenworth. Hisle outlined the roles and missions of the FEB and how it serves as a catalyst for communication, coordination and collaboration among the various federal agencies with offices in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
During his presentation, Hisle discussed the role of the FEB in the Kansas City area, and how the FEB supports the many federal agencies with offices and personnel in the region. He also spoke about how FEB contributes to emergency preparedness and facilitates workforce development and alternative dispute resolution, the latter of which he said has saved tax payers over $2.5 million in 2017 alone. Toward the end of the session, Hisle previewed FEB’s programs for 2018, including a leadership development series and an interagency mentoring program.
Hisle has served as the executive director of the Greater Kansas City Federal Executive Board since 2013. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Thomas Edison State University. Hisle has previously served as a program manager in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. He is very active in the community volunteering with youth sports teams and scouting activities as well as serving on the board of directors of the Sherwood Center for the Exceptional Child and on the advisory council of the KCK Area Technical School.
This was the fifth presentation in the series, which is co-hosted by the CGSC Foundation’s Simons Center with the U.S. Army Command and General Staff School (CGSS). The InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture Series is an extracurricular, interagency topic-focused series that is intended to help enrich the CGSS curriculum. The CGSC Foundation and the Simons Center have received support for all brown-bag lectures in academic year 2018 from First Command Financial Services in Leavenworth, Kansas. The presentations are scheduled each month, and a schedule for future InterAgency Brown-Bag Lectures can be found here. The next lecture is Jan. 18 and will feature a presentation on the Central Intelligence Agency.
All lectures in the InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture Series are free and open to the public.
