Rousseau briefs on CIA at InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture

Mr. Kevin Rousseau, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College Distinguished Chair for National Intelligence Studies, conducted a presentation on the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the latest InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture Jan. 18, in the Eisenhower Auditorium of the Lewis and Clark Center on Fort Leavenworth.

Rousseau briefed on the CIA’s mission as part of national security before opening the discussion to attendees. During his presentation, Rousseau emphasized the importance of the CIA’s Associate Director for Military Affairs (ADMA), which coordinates, plans, executes and sustains worldwide activities that support CIA and Department of Defense interaction based on priorities established by the Director of CIA to achieve National Security objectives. Rousseau has had many roles in the CIA, and most recently served as the briefer to the ADMA.

This was the sixth presentation in the series, which is co-hosted by the CGSC Foundation’s Simons Center with the U.S. Army Command and General Staff School (CGSS). The InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture Series is an extracurricular, interagency topic-focused series that is intended to help enrich the CGSS curriculum. The CGSC Foundation and the Simons Center have received support for all brown-bag lectures in academic year 2018 from First Command Financial Services in Leavenworth, Kansas. The presentations are scheduled each month, and a schedule for future InterAgency Brown-Bag Lectures can be found here. The next lecture is Feb. 26 and will feature a presentation on the ethics of cyber defense.

All lectures in the InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture Series are free and open to the public. As the series moniker states, the lecture series is conducted in the traditional “brown-bag lunch” format. – Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunches into the conference room. Members of the public coming to the lectures from off-post will need to add extra time to check-in at the Fort Leavenworth visitor center. – For gate information, see the Fort Leavenworth homepage.
