Simons Center hosts fifth InterAgency Brown-Bag Lecture

Yesterday, Mr. Ralph Erwin,  Senior Geospatial Intelligence Officer and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency liaison to CGSC, briefed students, staff, and faculty at the U.S. Command and General Staff College on the actions and missions of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

Erwin reviewed how NGA serves as both a combat support agency under the Department of Defense and an intelligence agency as part of the United States’ intelligence community. He also spoke about NGA’s role in helping prepare and train for military missions, including the Abbottabad raid which resulted in Osama bin Laden’s death, as well as how NGA’s intelligence aids first responders and humanitarian actors in foreign and domestic disaster response operations.

Erwin is the Senior Geospatial Intelligence Officer assigned by the Army National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Support Team to be the NGA Liaison to the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and the Combined Arms Center (CAC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
