Simons Center Director Published in Foreign Service Journal

The Foreign Service Journal recently published an article co-authored by Simons Center Director Ted Strickler and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) Chief of Staff Jeffrey LaMoe. The article, which appeared in the July/August issue of the Foreign Service Journal, examined how the Army’s professional education system develops leadership skills and offers possible lessons for the education and development of Foreign Service officers.

Strickler and LaMoe describe the Army’s model for leader development at institutions such as CGSC and the Army War College, and the Army’s commitment to professional education, which the authors assert would serve as a helpful model to the Department of State.
